Change Purses
Hey Pussycats!...

I made these yesterday and will put
these on my web page for $6.00 each.

I was thinking about listing some of these on Etsy
with some of my other bags.
I have not had much luck with Ebay lately...
What do you guys think of Etsy??
Do you go there and shop or look
at the stuff on there???
Is there a lot of Canadian interest in Etsy?
Any info, opinions or comments you have to offer
me would be really appreciated!!!
I would luv to hear from you!
Stay warm and drive safe tonight pussycats!
Only 37 days until April 1st!

Fantastic Crochet Scarves

Hiddy ho Pussycats!
Ok..you have to check out this gal's website!!!
www.twinkiechan.com

She has the BEST hand made scarves...
scraves that look like cookies,
cupcakes..peas and carrots,
french fries...and one of my favourites
spaghetti and meatballs.
I love her stuff!
Very cute and very original!

I hope she doesn't mind that used
a couple of her photos..but you have to see her work.
I love to see this kind of originality!
Cheers to twinkiechan!

Cute little Jacket Hey Pussycats!
I saved these pictures
and now I can't remember where i bookmarked them from.
I love these little jackets!!!
When these first came out
I thought to myself..
"how impractical!"
Same with short sleeve sweaters..
an oxymoron to me..BUT-
the more of these jackets I look
at the more I like.
These last two came from www.topshop.com
Luv this store from the UK- big $$$
but great clothes.

I think I will need to make myself one for spring
Something that won't be hidden
under a heavy winter coat.
'Till next time pussycats....

Fighting with a flounce pattern Hiddy Ho pussycats!
I have decided that i need to better my pattern making skills.
Pattern making is not exactly my strong point.
I am much better at sewing.
Pattern making involves math...enough said.
I wanted to make some flouncy skirts and
I decided that i would draft my
own flouce....
which really isn't rocket science.

Having said that....i worked on that thing
FOREVER!
Sheesh..getting the fullness in the right spots....
i have to say, i am a tad embarrassed
how long it took me to get it right.
The pattern piece itself is a bloody mess.
Here are some pics of the process.
this is what i started with

This was the first fitting...NOT the finished skirt,Yuck!
Stay tuned! xo
Electric Blanket
BRRRRR BRRRRR!! Pussycats!
Cheese and crackers it is cold outside.
I HATE winter! I hate snow. I hate no sun.
I avoid anything cold
(except for beer and/or ice cream)
at all costs!
I am the kinda gal that takes 15 plus minutes
to get into a pool.
You know the type..one toe at a time.

At the first sign of - 5 degrees C.
I immediately put the electric blanket on our bed.
Heaven!!! Sheer Heaven!
I would like to design a sassy little style jacket and
whip up an electric blanket coat
to wear ALL the time.
My problem is keeping it plugged in.
And- i fear customers would be tripping
over the cord while I am at
work and i may get fired for something like that!

For good or for bad I am a Gemini and as a rule nosy..
So, i Googled the electric blanket to see
what i could find out.

October 9, 1946 the 1st electric blanket manufactured; sold for $39.50

When electricity was born in the 1900s, electrical elements
were added to many common household items.

The very first electric blankets were very dangerous,
but have since been further developed,
designed for your comfort and safety.

It wasn't until the 1920s that electric blankets became
appealing to the general public.
Tuberculosis patients would spend much of their
recovery time outdoors because the air was
fresher than the air inside, however, the temperatures
would significantly drop overnight.
Hospitals and private nurses soon began to use
electric blankets to keep their patients warm outside.
Gradually the electric blanket made its
way to the public market, available for anyone to purchase.

Ok, well... not very exciting or sexy information really..but
i have to say, in these temperatures
it is hard to be sexy!
Cozy up to someone and stay warm!
April is only 51 days away!

Starting New Sweater Bags

Hiddy Ho Pussycats!
I see it in my best interest NOT to leave the house
these days based on minus 20 degree temperatures.
So, i have been trying to stay warm by
making some new sweater totes and handbags.
These two that I have started I really like so far....

I have to admit i am proud of this flower.
My "new year's" resolution was to
learn how to crochet.
And- Voila! a yellow flower i made all by myself.
I did not cheat and ask my Mum to finish it.
Those who know me....
know that i may try and cheat just a little.
I am not very patient when i am
learning new things.
I tend to be very impatient and
what to know how to do it NOW!
And, i want it to turn out perfect the
first time i do it!! Dammit!
So, the yellow flower is a small milestone
for me and my very short attention span...
what was i talking about??! :)

This is the lining.

I like the contrast of these 2 colours.
Green and red ARE complementary colours.
The photo i took doesn't do
this little bag justice.
But really, it is just a teaser.

Now i need to comb through all my favourite
thrift stores (oh Darn!) and find
some great handles for these bags.

Caio!!!... hope you are stayin' warm Pussycats!

Burda Pattern Mystery
I recently bought this Burda pattern off Ebay.
Ilove this dress! So 50's.. so feminine..so summery!
I can also see this for next fall in
heavy brocades or velvets!

I would not take the time to draft this
myself from scratch.
Sorry to say i am not that adventurous these days.
It looks easy but I suspect I am in for a challenge.

AND- I in no way speak or read German.
I did add seam allowance like
you usually do with Burda.
Other then that i am guessin' up a storm.

Am very excited to see this finished...
Hope to make a couple gorgeous gowns
like this with my own Weezi twist
and put on the web page.
Will keep you posted.

Tanya Cole
I will miss you terribly.
The world will not be the same without you in it.
It is hard to know where to start....
how you touched my life....
how you touched my soul....
what i learned from you.

I am grateful for all the time we spent together.
How much fun we had in all our "Rock and Roll" nights.

All the hours we spent together talking ..oh my god the talking!!!
Talking on the phone, here in my studio or at the Runt Club.
Talking thru 2 or 3 or ten bottles of red wine.
Trying to figure out men and why we love them...

Discussing the silly and the goofy -And the most important
heart wrenching matters that affected us that day.
Wanting to make our world a better place
as women often due...
thru the art of conversation
sharing and feeling.

Thank you T. for all your support and encouragement.
Thank you for believing in my talents
more than i did.
Thank you for thinking what i do has relevance...
that it mattered to you.
Thank you being so much fun...for bringing fun into my life.

Thank you for getting me thru 911...bad boyfriends...hangovers...bad moods,
moments and more moments of insecurity.
Thank you for "Litter Box" and
a fabulous time in Toronto.
Thank you for loving me.
You will be in my heart and will continue to influence my life forever.
Miss you buddy...be happy.

Bad Customer + White Boots = A New Weezi
Happy New Year Everyone!
I have been gone for awhile...
you know-the holidays and all that.
Seeing as it is winter..i thought i would post my first
blog of the year about boots.
Now, I am not sure what is up with me lately...
I think I am going thru some
kind of "style" metamorphisis..a sort of style "review" if you
will b/c i am recently
attracted to things that i would have
NEVER worn before.
I don't know if it is age...i don't really think so
b/c i have
never been known to act my age.

Anyhow...short story long...
I had the unfortunate experience of having a real "diva" come into
the restaurant where I work.
She was like Diana Ross on full speed!
You know the type...me, me ,me, i am so beautiful, worship me,
tell me I am a goddess while i treat you like my servant.

Anyhow...as this woman was making my
life a living hell at 10:10 in the A.M.!
I had to look away to keep from ramming my
thumbs into her eyes.
So, I looked down and saw she had on THE most beautiful white boots.
I mean stunning! High heels but not trashy.
Lovely pointed toe and gorgeous leather!

So while she was telling me how worthless I was and
that she wasn't paying for her breakfast...
..i was thinking WHERE did she get those boots?!!
Snatchy broad or not..this gal had some serious taste...
and she looked great in her boots.
I was converted.
In that moment...everything changed!
I always HATED white boots.
Too Dallas Cowboy for this Canadian gal.
Not to mention the always lurking"seedy" side to white boots.

Just goes to prove sometimes some good can come from
"over-the-top-snatchy-customers"!

BUT alas, the end to the story is that I live in a city that
is virtually void of
great fashion never mind fabulous boots and shoes.
Sad but true.

I have been "purr-ooozing" the internet to see
what I could get on-line
and fell in love with these!...
and these.....

and of course these....

What is next??! If someone tries to tell me that i will love brown and orange again...just like when i was in Brownie's...i had better just keep my mouth shut.
You just never know!
